Last Wednesday, the day of the big announcement, was also the day we told our kids. They are so excited! The girls all want a boy, because as Katie said, "I just feel bad for Jonny." I made this cake as a fun way to tell them. It is pretty sad-looking, but it got the point across and, who doesn't like cake???
Saturday was a special day. My niece Emily was baptized by her father (my brother) Gary. We were all so happy for her!
Here's a picture of all the family here in Mesa.
Sunday was Father's Day. I am so thankful for all the dads in my life. My dad has always been a great example to me. I am so thankful for my good husband and the good example he is for our kids. We love him a lot! So we tried to spoil him. Richard's day started out pretty good with breakfast in bed and several presents.
We both had to teach lessons in church, so that was a little stressful. But he wore this fabulous tie, which was from a couple of years ago and we pinned on the number 5. (I would have made a new tie, but our printer doesn't work so well.) Anyway, it got lots of attention and we were able to share our news in a fun way.
After a great dinner at Richard's parents' house, Richard started feeling sick. A few hours later he had a fever and the stomach flu. Happy Father's Day!! He spent all of yesterday feeling pretty rotten too. Sorry...I didn't take any pictures of that. :)
So now, I know you are all waiting to read the most important part of this blog......
how many loads of laundry did I do this week???? Well, actually, I don't keep track, but because I wasn't feeling so great, I would say only about 7 or 8. I will work on that for next week. ;)
Hey Carolyn! Good to see you have joined the blogging world! How funny that you named your blog the same as ours... don't worry I know you didn't copy ours, but if you had I would've been flattered! ;) You know what else is funny? I started my blog when we found out we were pregnant with # 5 too! Thats why I wanted to call it the sly seven. :o) How exciting for you guys... when do you find out what you are having? Are you gonna find out? Well congrats and good luck on the blog! Glad to see you have my blog on your list. :)
ReplyDeleteThat tie is so cute! Have you had morning sickness? It seems Richard does LOL jk. I am glad you guys have a blog. It is nice to relate and connect with family and friends and have a live-journal!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you that you started a blog! I don't know if you know - but you can also turn your blog into a book (www.blurb.com) so not only will your blog be available on the internet, but you can make books including all of the pictures you post on here and the words and everything for your family to enjoy for years and years to come! Matt was saying the other day that although the blog can take up some of my time - he said "How many things that we are doing right now are we going to TREASURE in 50 years?" We will always treasure the blog books, and I can just imagine our great grandchildren enjoying reading about their grandparents, etc. So it really is a worthwhile investment, time wise. I actually have yet to make a book - it's time consuming - I keep thinking once the twins start kindergarten in August. Anyway, long comment, but I'm excited for you!
ReplyDeleteI love that you actually told us your laundry count! That is awesome, you are awesome! love ya!
