One fun thing we are doing as a family this summer is reading lots of books. The older girls will sit for hours and read. We recently read Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief together as a family. It was very entertaining. Yesterday the movie of it came out on DVD so we ate some Greek food and had a movie night. I love summertime when we can stay up late and enjoy time together without the stress of school work and early mornings. The heat is another issue....
Oh, one major milestone we just passed: we are out of credit card debt! YAHOO! We have been working on this goal for a little over a year doing Dave Ramsey's debt snowball. It is sad to admit that we were in so much debt, and unfortunately, we still have student loans to pay off, but we are progressing and doing better. It feels so good to have that weight off our backs. (Now if I could get the weight off my mid-section.... ha!)
Speaking of weight, here is the only share-worthy picture of the week.
Look at the size of this chimichanga! This delicious piece of food-art was purchased at a little fast food place called El Metate for a whopping $4.50. Thankfully, Richard helped eat it. :)
Have a great week!
Hey! Fun to find you blog! Send me an email at megches@gmail.com and I'll send you an invite to our blog.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, now that is one delicious looking chimichanga. Yum! And I can't believe you ONLY did 7 or 8 loads of laundry! lol! :) Congrats on the new baby. What wonderful news!
We paid off our debt this year and it felt pretty good. (student loans a-comin later) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWhere is this place you can get such a beautiful chimi? look delicious :)
I have had a head cold this entire pregnancy which leads to ear infections! It has been super fun! Richard has got us excited to do the Dave Ramsey thing...we do not have that much dept but any dept feels like a slave labor to the person you owe money too! I am so happy for your new baby! Congrats again! I remember having summers where us girls read all summer and watch the movie or just read! My boys would rather be ran over by the garbage truck. They want extreme sports all day everyday to entertain them...driving me crazy!
ReplyDeleteDid you like the movie? I thought it was pretty good. That food looks awesome! Good job getting out of debt! Lets celebrate when I come down next week, k? love and miss ya! Lyds
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog because you have such a good positive sense of humor and make me laugh over the everydayness (is that a word?) of life. See you in a couple of weeks!
